The Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) organised a delightful Hari Raya Celebration and Gathering alongside the CIAC Open Day in a vibrant fusion of festivity and cultural exchange. The event, held to mark the joyous occasion of Eid, also served as a unique opportunity for inbound exchange students to immerse themselves in Malaysia's rich and diverse culture, particularly its culinary delights. Students from China, Japan, Indonesia, Brunei, and Uzbekistan eagerly participated in the festivities.

Fifty inbound mobility students and their UUM global buddies join the celebration alongside CIAC staff. The deans and deputy deans were also warmly invited to join the gathering. Adding to the festive spirit, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Azizuddin bin Mohd Sani delighted attendees by distributing "duit raya" envelopes, a cherished Malaysian tradition symbolising blessings and goodwill.

The afternoon's highlight was undoubtedly the tantalising array of Malaysian Eid delicacies served to the delight of all present. From the aromatic flavours of Ketupat and Rendang to the comforting warmth of Laksa and Soto and the savoury skewers of Sate alongside fragrant Nasi Tomato, attendees savoured every bite, indulging in the gastronomic delights of Malaysian cuisine.

Entertainment was not in short supply either, as Mr. Sayazi, a staff member from CIAC, serenaded the audience with soulful renditions of Eid songs, adding to the festive atmosphere. Dr. Syamsul Hirdi, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni from the School of Creative Industry Management & Performing Arts (SCIMPA), also lent his musical talents to the occasion, further enhancing the celebratory mood.

Beyond the festivities, the event encapsulated the essence of cultural exchange and camaraderie, enriching inbound mobility students with an unforgettable experience that transcends borders and fosters lasting connections. The celebration had achieved its objective of promoting cultural understanding and forging bonds of friendship among participants, embodying the spirit of unity in diversity that defines Malaysia's vibrant tapestry of cultures.
